Two years ago, I came across a picture a sentence and an image of a tired white collar job holder. Its not the image that caught my attention, it’s the sentence that came with it. It blew my mind, got me thinking and it has never left me. Today, I want to discuss something similar and I hope it won’t be just a mere information to you but an inspiring revelation that will get you going. We will look at working as an employee.
So, the statement said something about how we go to work for 8 hours and then we say we are too tired to do something when we return such that we don’t do anything about our own vision. It ended by saying we are not tired, we are just uninspired. I know this is the reality several people out there. Somehow, when you get into what Robert Kiyosaki calls rat race, its hard to get out. And it tend to blinds you from other reality.
Working As An Employee
Whoever wrote that statement was right. You are not tired, you are just uninspired. How will you spend 8 hours building another person’s dream and you are too tired to even find 1 hour for yours. If you do that all your life, it means you have replaced your destiny for someone else. Why are you not inspired to work on your dream? Have you got no dreams? If you don’t have a dream, you will be employed to build other people’s dream all your life.
Don’t Get This Wrong
When we talk about working on your dream and being inspired to live your true self, a lot of people feel it’s bad to work as an employee. No, its not bad and don’t let anyone fool you that it is bad. I know there is great noise about entrepreneurship all over. That’s cool. Working as employee will help you a lot even if you want to be an entrepreneur. I recommend you for someone first before setting up yours. It’s not a bad idea at all.
Reasons Why You Need To Be An Employee First
There are three important reasons I recommend you work as an employee first even if you intend to be an entrepreneur. First, that’s where you learn the process of management in practical terms. You will be able to see lots of decisions sometimes stupid to you but when you have a glimpse of what management is looking into, you will understand why they are taking the decisions. This is very key if you will ever succeed as an entrepreneur. You need to be aware practical management tactics
Also, you will learn how to interact with people. A workplace is where you meet different kind of people. If you will succeed as entrepreneur, you must know how to relate with people. You will find out the good and bad things about yourself while working as an entrepreneur. Interestingly, the quality of any organization is the quality of people in it and without a proper dealings even the best employee may turn out to be the greatest enemy to the business.
Finally, working as an employee is where you learn what it feels like as an employee. You will learn the pains, joy, stress and the perceptions. So even when you begin as an entrepreneur and your employees are responding to issue in a certain way, you will understand. You really can’t feel the pain if you haven’t been there. You will also learn how to catch the bad ones especially if you were one or had such friends.
