Thank you for joining on this series “Life Facts You Have To Live With” Thank you so much. We had a discussion on life facts about worry yesterday. If you have not seen yesterday’s discussion, please go here. We shall continue from where we stopped yesterday.
What Worrying Has To Offer
Before you retire into worrying, it is best to consider what it is in it for you. It is always good to do your analysis before you go into something and be clear with what is obtainable. I believe you have worried on issues before and you are likely to think back see what you got in return.
We established a process flow of how worry takes effect. Yesterday, we saw how it bring about depression. So, depression is one of the consequences of worrying. There are several millions of people living in depression today. This is a dangerous road to walk through.
Apart from depression, you are at the risk of health problems. You might just earn yourself heart problems. Heart attack, hypertension etc are around the corner once you begin to engage in worrying. My advice is that you should not shorten your life worries. And don’t let worries you give a painful long life because of health issues.
Pastor Enoch Durotoye of Wisdom Christian Centre remarked that worry has never solve any problem. This is a basic life fact, hold on to it. Remind yourself everytime you want to switch into worry. I must quickly add that worry will never solve any problem. At least I am sure of this in this present world.
What Should We Do At Times Susceptible To Worry
Friends, the Bible is not silent on issues like this. Even our Lord and master, Jesus Christ asked a pertinent question in Matthew 6:27, “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?’ The answer is, no one can. It means worrying is not the way to go irrespective how bad you think the situation is.
At times susceptible to worry, the Bible is not silent to what is expected of us. If you are currently going through such a time, the God has a word for you in His word. Turn your Bible with me to Philippians 4:6. I have also provided different versions below;
New International Version
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
New Living Translation
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
New King James Version
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
King James Bible
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Christian Standard Bible
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Understand What The Word Says
This verse did not suggest or advice but it commands us all never to worry about anything. That means nothing should have the capacity to make you worry. If anything comes up that looks like something to worry about, the verse says you should take it to God through prayer. So, instead of worrying, pray about it.
I often tell my wife that anytime something is troubling her, she should pray about it. Pray until spirit aligns with God’s solution for the problem. God knows things like this will happen to us as human, He already made plans for a way out but you have to access it through prayer. The prayer helps to open eyes and mind to the solution through your spirit aligning with God’s spirit.
It is my prayer for you that all that is troubling you will be settled in Jesus name. Just as Jesus commanded that storm to be still in Mark 4:39, every storm in your life seizes exist now in Jesus name. Shout out your believing amen. You are blessed in Jesus name.
