I am super excited to have you come on board this year. Happy new year and I wish you a year of exploits. Let’s talk about goal setting and fighting through as we begin the year.
Since December last year, I have been saying God has an agenda in 2021. Every time God comes with an agenda, He inspires His people to make exploits. So it is possible that you will be inspired to do things well above your pay grade or level. Just note that with God all things are possible.
One of the techniques of getting things done is goal setting. And I will need to share a similar experience of that in the scriptures so that you can understand what I am talking about. I will also recommend you read a piece I wrote last year on why you need goals and not resolutions. Go here.
In Genesis 29, Jacob an escapee came across a damsel and loved her immediately. One would thought the man had no strength with the things going on in life. But because of love, he single-handedly roll over the stone that would have required two or more men. Instantly, Rachael became his goal. Do you realize your goal when feel or see it?
The same way Jacob felt the love for Rachael is the same way God has been placing burdens and love in your spirit. You feel it in your soul but you are putting a blind spot to it because of your current state. If Jacob did that, he would never have married Rachael. You feel bad about situations, you don’t know God is telling you that you have exploits there.
In verse 18, Jacob did something many of us are not doing which is why we set goals and we don’t achieve them. He set a timeline to achieve his goal. He gave seven years of service to get Rachael. In other words, I will work for seven years to achieve my goal. Many of us don’t have timelines for our goal. That’s why they either never achieved or not achieved at all.
Another thing you will see clearly there is hard work. Guys, you need hard work if you must achieve your goals. God bless my Pastor, Pastor Enoch Durotoye who showed us the four types of work we need to do to achieve our goals. This is one of them. Send me an email if you need that message. Jacob wasn’t sleeping in the timeline he set, he was working seriously. Maybe you don’t get this clearly, he woke up everyday taking care of the flock, ensuring they’re well fed and increase in number. If someone tries to steal them, he will fight. He did all of that because of his goal and Rachael was that goal.
Today, I will like to stop at this point to continue later. My question to you is; how much can you do to achieve your goal? If you are yet to set your goal for the year, never let today pass without setting them. Work and move with direction this year. May the Lord bless you abundantly in Jesus name. See you soon!
