In the true sense, a lazy Christian is not a Christian. This is because such a person cannot possess quality experience with God. The hallmark of Christianity is in the experience with God. I mean interfacing with God. That’s where people are made. This is something a casual Christian can never achieve.
Relationship With God
Your experience with God is directly proportional to your relationship with Him. So the question is, do you have a relationship with God? When we talk about relationship with God, such that can produce results and turn your life around, it has to be cordial. If you are trying to just be a casual Christian, you are lazy Christian and God can’t do much with and through you.
How To Get A Cordial Relationship
If you seek to get out of casual Christianity, you will need to embark on three things. You will need to do them regularly but not religiously. Do them with just one intention; to know God more. If you can do this, you will be surprised how much relationship you can build with God in just one month.
Prayer remains communication with God. I don’t you having a cordial relationship with God without praying. You can’t have a cordial relationship with anyone without quality communication with such person. You must create time to pray. Take it a step further, tell God everything. Never leave anything out.
Well, the way of the kingdom requires that you fast often. You need to understand that fasting enables you to be more sensitive to God. It means you are taking away all obstacle to a quality relationship with God. You will need to fast well to be able to hear God well and respond accordingly.
Read The Bible
If you intend to be a true Christian, you must learn to read the word of God and adjust yourself to the truth of the Bible. You can’t know God without knowing the word of God. God is revealed in His word and only through His word you can learn to relate with Him. You will need to learn to sit and find God in the pages of the Bible. Be a Bible conscious Christian.
Keep in mind that salvation which makes you a Christian is free but not cheap. It requires a lot from Jesus Christ. It will cost you lot as well. In working out your salvation, you will need to forsake lots of things, people and sometimes many perceived benefits. So, it is not cheap.
During a time like this when you are required to stay at home. It is a time to gain more grounds with God. All you need to do is to engage yourself in these three things. Do them more. Don’t waste away with movies, songs and social media. Build up your faith and stretch yourself in the Spirit. Now is a better time to do it. Don’t be a lazy Christian!
