As I read one of the notes written by the great Apostle Paul, I am inspired to write these few words. This is strictly for people working in vineyard of the most high God. So, if you’re one of us or know someone that does, please do not hesitate to share with them
Please turn your Bible with me to 2 Timothy 4:1-5. There the great Apostle Paul was charging the young Pastor Timothy. I bring you the same charge today. This is not to say I am greater than you but I am definitely sent to you right now that’s why you are graced to read this. I respect the grace of God on your life but know that God requires you to function effectively wherever He place you. That’s why you need this.
In verse one of the chosen Scripture Apostle Paul did something that is worth noticing. He brought God the father and Jesus Christ the son, as a witness to the charge he gave Timothy. This is to let you know the weight of the charge and its importance. This is because whether or not you will end well and have eternal rest with Jesus Christ depends on how you receive this charge. Today, just as he did so do I.
Preach The Word
Dear Pastor, please preach the word. You’re called to preach the Bible. Jesus Christ is the center of the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, it’s all about Jesus Christ. So, preach Jesus Christ. There has been too much of the sermon either focusing on something else or completely devoid of Jesus Christ. I once attended a program; all the invited minister was doing is just motivation using quotes of successful men. Then, I know there’s a great challenge in the body of Christ.
Paul says be instant in and out of season. That means every minister of the Gospel must be ready at all times. This is one of the significant lessons in Bible School. Once you become a minister, you are required to be ready discharge your called responsibility. I once went to a naming ceremony with one of our Fathers in faith, while they were about to end the praise, he turned to me and told me I will be preaching there. That was just about 3 minutes to the sermon. Just be prepared.
We will continue the charge in the next article on this same subject matter. From now on, endeavour to preach the word always anytime you have the opportunity. Make sure you are prepared by reading and meditating on the word of God. Let it be your companion and food. For a called man cannot be separated from preaching, that is the very essence of his living. You cannot truly live until you begin to preach Jesus Christ if you are called.
