This Is Why You Need To Pray Always

Spread the love

Prayer as a subject has always been a topic of discussion from time immemorial. A lot of people think it is overemphasized why some other feel it is just another spiritual activity. It has been discussed so much that lots of truths about it are left in the shadows. If you are ever going to be a successful Christian, you must not only pray but it has to be according to God’s standard. One of the standard is that, it has to be always.

Well, that may seem unrealistic to lots of us. That’s in human thinking and perspective not with God. In Luke 1:37, Bible makes it clear that with God nothing shall be impossible. Just note that whenever God tells you do something, it is because its possibility exist with Him. So, you actually need God to do anything He commands. Just take advantage of the resources He has made available. So, here are four major reasons you need to pray always;

It Is A Command

Take a look at 1 Chronicle 16:11, (KJV)

11 Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

You will notice it speaks about praying always. Take a closer look at how the verse started, you will see it’s not an encouragement neither are we enjoined. It was direct. You need to take the Bible for the way it is to get results.

Jesus Teaches The Same

In the book of Luke 18, Jesus taught people with parables. All that the parables emphasized was to simple and clear, to pray always. Check the very first verse of that chapter and what it says below;

18 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
(KJV)

Pray Always To Make Heaven

Jesus also taught that we need to watch and pray always in order to finish well and strong. So, if you really intend to end well in the faith race, there is no other way out than to be praying always. Check out Luke 21:36 below;

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Apostle Paul Taught The Same

The great apostle sent to the gentiles wrote and taught in his prison notes on the same subject. Praying always cannot be overemphasized. Check the verses from the prison notes below;

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV)

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Colossians 4:2 (KJV)

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Even in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, it says pray without ceasing. That means without stopping so it is not only when you wake up, about to sleep or when you are in the sanctuary. A great man of God, Pastor Joseph Alimi of Divine Light Ministry always emphasize that prayer can never be too much except that it may not be enough. Prayer is a lifestyle. Build that and get used to it.
